Increasing Energy through Exercise

There are countless benefits to exercise, but one of the most prominent and important is the increased energy levels you are going to experience. Why does this happen and how can we harness this for our own benefit?

There are a lot of similarities between meditation and a properly built workout routine. Repetitive tasks with a central goal in mind that you can focus on will put you into a zen like state. Just make sure to cut out all distractions and focus on the task at hand. This will help you to exercise more efficiently and draw more of your internal energies out and focus them on the exercise. If you are listening to music or watching TV, you are not focused and you are not directing your energy properly.

Many people are worried about the inherently aggressive nature of some form of exercise. I feel that no action is inherently aggressive and that the energy you use to fuel your activity is more important than the activity itself. Just because you are punching leather boxing bags does not mean that you are harboring negative energy. In fact, it can be highly beneficial to disassociate actions like punching with anger and negative energy.

Above all other physical activities, I suggest yoga. This is the perfect solution for everyone; especially those who fear hitting leather boxing bags because of a negative association. Yoga, when done properly, should be an amazing workout and a beautiful form of meditation. The more you practice, the more you can let your mind fall into a state of calm while going through the motions and the deeper into a state of meditation you will be able to achieve. I suggest finding a good teacher who appreciates the use of internal energies in yoga. They will be able to teach you the right forms and the techniques you need for increasing your energy levels permenantly.
